Can I purchase a plan online right now? +
Yes — all residential plans are available to purchase and pay online via Stripe. Plans bill annually and auto-renew. You can cancel at any time. Commercial plans require an on-site estimate first; call us at 847-469-9934 to get started.
When do my visits get scheduled after I sign up? +
After you sign up, our team will reach out within 1 business day to schedule your first visit. We'll coordinate timing based on your system type — heating plans are typically scheduled in fall, cooling plans in spring.
What does "priority scheduling" actually mean? +
During peak season — January and February for heating, June through August for cooling — our schedule fills up fast. GSS Club members go to the front of the line for both maintenance visits and any repair calls that come up during their membership year.
Can I add multiple systems to one membership? +
Yes. You can combine plans — for example, an AC + Furnace plan plus a Tankless Water Heater plan. The Tank Water Heater is an add-on only and must be paired with another plan. Call us to discuss bundling options.
Does membership cover repairs if something breaks? +
Membership covers scheduled maintenance visits and the associated labor and inspection. It does not cover parts or repairs for breakdowns — those are billed separately. However, members receive priority scheduling for repair calls and the 5% equipment replacement discount.
What happens if my boiler is over 200,000 BTU? +
Larger boilers require an estimate visit before we can enroll you in a maintenance plan. The scope and time required varies significantly with boiler size. Call us at 847-469-9934 and we'll schedule an estimate visit at no charge.
How does the 5% equipment replacement discount work? +
Active GSS Club members receive 5% off any new equipment replacement performed by Gold Shield. Just mention your membership when you call or let your technician know — they'll apply it to your quote. The discount applies to equipment cost and installation.
Can I cancel my membership? +
Yes. Memberships can be cancelled at any time. If you cancel after a visit has already been performed, the cost of that visit will be deducted from any refund at standard service rates. Call us at 847-469-9934 to cancel or make changes.
